Right to keep, bear arms
What does the "right to bear arms" mean?
The right to bear arms is a right that Americans have to own a weapon, not their right to have furry animal arms, or uncovered arms. This allows citizens to protect themselves if there is a home invasion. This is one of the amendments our country was founded on.
When has this right been abused?
Columbine was a terrible example of this right being abused. Two disturbed teenagers walked into their school, shot and killed many of their classmates. An example of governmental abuse is Washington DC banned the right to own a gun. This goes against American citizen's constitutional right. This is not what our forefathers would have wanted. The town of Nelson in Georgia on the other had did the complete opposite of Washington DC. They require all families to own a gun and ammunition. However there is no punishment for not owning a gun so there is really no point to the law.
